At ELIXR, our Red Light Therapy is provided by an advanced Solbasium Red Light Therapy Bed. This bed simultaneously projects 5 different wavelengths (compared to only 1 or 2 in most beds) and has some of the most powerful LEDs.
633 nm and 660 nm: beneficial for peripherals like skin quality and also anti-aging benefits
810 nm and 830 nm: for muscle relief and pain relief. This wavelength (near infrared) goes deeper into tissues
940 nm: even deeper tissue recovery for people who are working out hard.
Recommended: 10-15 mins each session 3 to 5 sessions a week. Not recommended to exceed 30 minutes in any session.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
-
What is a red light bed and how does it work?
A red light bed is a full-body device that uses low-level wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to promote skin health, reduce inflammation, and help muscles recover. There are 4 main pathways it uses:
Cellular Energy: This advanced bed uses LEDs (light-emitting diodes) that emit specific light wavelengths, between 630 and 950 nanometers.
Mitochondria Absorption: When this light enters the skin, it is absorbed by your cells' mitochondria, known as the "power plant".
ATP Production: This stimulation helps cells produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the energy source they use to repair and regenerate.
Increased Circulation: The treatment also helps boost blood flow and lower cellular inflammation, allowing tissues to heal more efficiently. -
How long do red light sessions typically last?
The duration of red light therapy sessions can vary depending on individual preferences and goals. Generally, sessions can range from a recommended 10-15 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes. -
Are there any health risks associated with red light therapy?
Red light therapy can be safe and beneficial for most individuals. However, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider if you have any underlying medical conditions or concerns before starting red light sessions. Unlike UV tanning beds, red light beds do not use ultraviolet rays, do not cause a tan, and do not burn or damage the skin. -
What are the benefits of red light therapy?
Red light therapy has several potential benefits:
Skin Rejuvenation: Stimulates collagen and elastin production, which helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and scars.
Muscle Recovery & Pain Relief: Reduces muscle soreness after intense workouts and eases joint pain or stiffness from conditions like arthritis.
Reduced Inflammation: Lowers systemic inflammation, which can accelerate the healing of injuries.
Improved Circulation: Promotes the formation of new capillaries, increasing blood flow and oxygen delivery throughout the body. -
Can anyone participate in red light therapy sessions?
Red light therapy sessions are generally suitable for most individuals. However, it's advisable to consult with your healthcare provider if you have any specific health conditions or concerns. -
How often should I schedule red light sessions?
The frequency of red light therapy sessions can vary based on personal preference and individual goals. Some people choose to incorporate red light therapy into their weekly routine 3-5 times a week. Others prefer occasional sessions for specific purposes. -
What should I bring/wear for a red light therapy session?
It's recommended to bring a towel and wear comfortable swimwear or clothing that allows for easy movement. -
Can I combine red light therapy with other treatments or therapies?
-
Yes, red light therapy can complement various other wellness practices such as sauna sessions, cold plunges, hydrotherapy, meditation, or massage. It's always a good idea to explore different combinations that work best for your needs.
